VILLA

FLORES

Since its inception in 1998, Villa Flores has formed a niche within the South Park Downtown Los Angeles community. From 9:30am-11:30am coffee is offered to the residents in the lobby by the resident volunteer fondly referred to as, ‘Tito’ (a Tagalog word of respect for an older male). Residents also participate in quarterly parties in the Villa Flores Multi-Purpose Room, where they celebrate birthdays, play bingo, and cook for one another.

Villa Flores residents also tend to their community garden where they plant their own food and share the fruits of their labor. The residents make many special dishes but are best known for making delicious kimchi that they share amongst each other, as well as with the on-site property manager.

Villa Flores is represented by the 14th Council District of the City of Los Angeles.
